The question in the Blog section of the Louisville Courier-Journal, asks, "Is America ready for a Black, or Female president." My response is simply I do not care what the color, or gender. What I do care about is if there is going to be any real change in America, once a true President enters the White House? So far none, "NONE," of the candidates are speaking of real nuts and bolts reform, that is with the exception of Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas). With this group of want-to-be President, there are no references to the continuing failings of public education, real down to earth tax reform, or how to sustain the so called entitlements. None of these presidental candidates have visited the poorest sections of America, and have only thrown rocks at just how and what they would change.
Most all are themselves "Career Politicians," and I have not heard a means of ending this threat to our democrary. Then there are the lobbyists for "Special Interests." No one is lying down a hard road map as to how to change these pit falls in the business of government. Career politicians spend most of their time, not in the service to you and me, but chasing dollars, while the legislation is now being written by the lobbyists. Then when time comes for a vote, the race begins to add "Pork," and no one reads the legislation before the vote. As for lobbyists, I see no reason for there to be lobbyists, that is unless we all have lobbyists haunting Capitol Hill.
How and when is America going to stand up and deliver what it says on paper? Six months out of the year, we the American people are a slave to Local, State, and The Federal governments. Yet I keep hearing how we need to cut taxes for the rich so that they will create new jobs, thus stimulating the economy. This has been the same old dead song since Herbert Hoover, and recently Ronald Reagan, and the guy now living in the White House, basically the crumbs off the tables of the rich, and privileged. While the only jobs created are in India, or China. This the result of very lopsided so called trade deals. You know trade, something of value, in exchange for something of equal value.
No one is truly addressing the invasion of illegal aliens, not just from Mexico, or Central America, but from all over the world. This cry these people are needed to keep the economy going, which in reality amounts to "Slave Labor." Yes slave labor, because these illegal individuals are paid less, than citizens. Of course these people take jobs Americans refuse. But something is left out, Americans refuse these jobs simply because the employers want to pay starvation wages. I have even heard that we need more work visas, because there are not enough citizens with the skills to fill these high tech jobs. That excuse has been debunked by leading university studies. Again the employers pay these people less than what they would have to pay citizens. Yet even some of the Candidates are calling for an increase in the number of these visas. All of this while American males of African decent have an unemployment rate of about 3 times the national rate, and are paid as is 25% less than their white counter part.
So in the end, it is not the candidates' color, or gender, it is the "Issues."
